Bathroom Trends for 2018

Bathrooms are a unique room in the house as they are both highly personal and require premium functionality. This provides the new home builder a rare opportunity to experiment with spaces private in nature and completely unique to your personal needs and preferences.

So what bathroom designs and fit outs are piquing our interests in 2018?

Free standing baths

A favourite of ours, the free-standing bath, is making quite the comeback! Pick a bath that suits your style and for something extra we love inbuilt mixer taps over a large and organically curvaceous bath to provide a key visual feature with a feeling of luxury.

Monochromatic Designs

Think bold tiles, black fixtures, frameless mirrors – this trend is for the daring. A beautiful way to do it is to use textured tiles and matte black taps, shower head and railing to soften the feel while still having that beautiful, classy overall design. Or if you’re feeling daring, choose a brilliant patterned tile and make a statement.

Smart storage

The time has finally come – practicality is back in fashion! And in our modern world there are many stylish options to do so. Hidden and seamless cupboards integrated into the layout and overall design of the bathroom are our favourites. Plus, the ability to set out draws and cupboards with intention and structure

Square fixtures and fittings

As you have likely assumed, 2018 is the year for bold bathrooms. So why not top it off with square fittings and fixtures for that ultra-modern feel. You’ll see these accessories are popping up in supplier stores more and more, and not only in stainless steel, we are seeing beautiful rose golds, copper and matte black finishes.

Our tip: if you’re going square – stick to your theme! Don’t mix and match with curves. This includes showerheads, tapware and rails.

Accessorise with greenery!

Bathrooms are becoming and increasingly popular area of the house to project your personal flair on to. A popular way to inject some colour and soften up those cold hard surfaces is through the inclusion of potted plants. Plus what else says fresh and clean like a slice of mother nature herself.
